Social Pairing Program
Volunteer-Senior Friendly Calls
We pair older adults with trained volunteers, who make weekly calls where they conduct a needs assessment and offer support. Volunteers also write letters on a biweekly basis and send care packages, which typically contain items such as snacks and resource guides, as well as essential items such as hand sanitizer and masks.
Senior-Senior Mutual Aid
We match seniors with senior peers for mutual support. Peer pairings share their experiences, triumphs, and struggles and form lasting friendships.
Service Navigation
There are often significant and systemic barriers that prevent our community members from accessing the services they need and deserve, including but not limited to ageism, isolation, technology, and physical accessibility.
Guided by the principles of collaborative helping and radical listening, Clio provides client-centered service navigation for older adults participants in our social-pairing program. When connecting our participants with resources, we strive to take the time to listen to their needs, understand the barriers they face, and activate the strengths they already have.
We seek to understand how potential resources can fit into the life narratives of our older adults and to ensure these resources fit with the values and rights of our participants.
