We’re lean. As a new organization, founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, we operate remotely, with minimal overhead expenses.
We’re evidence-based. Our team of multidisciplinary professionals is committed to using proven-effective techniques for alleviating social isolation and service disconnection among older adults. We prioritize program evaluation (e.g., using the DeJong Gierveld Loneliness Scale to track loneliness outcomes over time) and we aim to publish our new model.
We’re tackling an expensive problem. Research suggests that each socially-isolated senior enrolled in Medicare costs, on average, an extra $134 per month, relative to more connected individuals. Our program is reducing the burden of social isolation - vastly compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic - on communities.
