Clio Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in supporting older adults through Clio! We are so excited to welcome you to the team.

Clio’s greatest need is for volunteers interested in socially-distanced direct service with older adults, although we are also willing to consider volunteer applications from individuals interested in backend operations and logistics (especially marketing and graphic design). There are also opportunities for short-term, rapid-response volunteering (for example, performing older adult participant intakes or calling older adults whose primary volunteers are on vacation).

Clio pays for the postage, shipping, and care package content expenses that the volunteers incur as part of volunteering. Volunteers are only expected to contribute their time and care. They are not asked or expected to go to the post office or anywhere in particular as part of volunteering with Clio. For example, if a volunteer sends a senior a care package, Clio can assist them in arranging a package pick-up.

Clio volunteers can be anywhere in the world, as long as they have a U.S. phone number or Google Voice number. Individuals interested in volunteering should be at least 18 years in age. They must be prepared, if accepted, to do a volunteer orientation webinar and potentially ongoing training or check-ins with Clio’s professional staff. In general, accepted volunteers can expect to spend 1-3 hours per week on volunteering. Clio asks volunteers to be prepared to make a three-month minimum commitment to volunteering once matched with a senior.

By submitting this form, volunteer applicants consent to Clio storing all personal information that applicants have enclosed in the form and using the included contact information to contact them.

Any questions can be sent to marie@clioconnect.org.

Please note that submitting an application or completing initial training is not a guarantee of being paired with a senior. Pairings are made on the basis of seniors’ interests, languages spoken, and availability, and on the basis of various factors determined by the Clio team and consultants.
